ABOUT Us
Founded in December 2020
We are a multi-disciplinary volunteer group focused on stopping COVID-19 with ethical policy and practical, scientifically-based solutions to the issue of airborne / aerosol virus transmission
The Canadian Aerosol Transmission Coalition (CATC) is a volunteer group that came together early in the pandemic, concerned that lessons from SARS-1 were being ignored and aerosol transmission of the new virus was not recognized. Since we firmly believe multi-disciplinary voices are essential to protect workers and others, we try to model that approach to our activities. Participants include occupational hygienists, engineers (including ventilation specialists), medical professionals, respirator specialists, aerosol and other research scientists, legal professionals, and former government occupational health regulators. Citizen scientists and immunocompromised individuals also play key roles. We also have developed important connections to other academics, professional organizations, and community-based groups that have sprung up in this pandemic, in Canada and internationally.
